William Kristol will be the dinner speaker for the annual Black Tie Churchill Academic Dinner held in conjunction with the meeting of the American Political Science Association (APSA) in Washington, D.C.  The dinner will be held on Thursday evening, September 2, 2010, at the Army and Navy Club, 901 17th Street, NW, Washington, DC.  Mr. Kristol's speech is entitled Our Gathering Storm.

William Kristol is editor of the influential Washington-based political magazine, The Weekly Standard. Widely recognized as one of the nation's leading political analysts and commentators, Mr. Kristol regularly appears on Fox News Sunday and on the Fox News Channel.

Before starting The Weekly Standard in 1995, Mr. Kristol led the Project for the Republican Future, where he helped shape the strategy that produced the 1994 Republican congressional victory. Prior to that, Mr. Kristol served as chief of staff to Vice President Dan Quayle during the Bush administration and to Secretary of Education William Bennett under President Reagan. Before coming to Washington in 1985, Mr. Kristol taught politics at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.

Mr. Kristol recently co-authored The New York Times bestseller The War Over Iraq: America's Mission and Saddam's Tyranny.

The Black Tie (or dark suit) dinner will be held Thursday evening, September 2, at The Army and Navy Club, 901 17th Street, NW, Washington, DC.  Wine and beer will be available at 7:00 p.m.; dinner will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The Churchill Centre of London and Chicago organizes this dinner annually in conjunction with the Annual Conference of the APSA.  The Centre was founded in 1995 under the patronage of Lady Soames LG DBE and presently has about 3,000 members worldwide. An international nonprofit organization, the Centre encourages the study of Winston S. Churchill's life and thought, and strives to keep alive his memory for future generations.

Dinner subscriptions are $100 per person and may be also obtained by phone, email or FAX to Ms. Mary M. Paxson in The Churchill Centre offices.  The Centre accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express.
